Starting from Adilabad tribal areas and expanding across India, JalAmruth is a flagship water security initiative of Sun Charitable Trust designed to ensure safe, sustainable, and fluoride-free drinking water for vulnerable communities.
The project begins in tribal areas of Adilabad district, Telangana, where many villages face unsafe groundwater, fluoride contamination, and seasonal water scarcity. Despite efforts under Jal Jeevan Mission and Jal Shakti Abhiyan, several remote habitations still struggle with reliable safe drinking water access.
JalAmruth bridges these gaps through a community-centered model combining purification infrastructure, groundwater recharge systems, and sustainable village-level water governance.
Safe Drinking Water Infrastructure through decentralized village purification systems.
Groundwater Sustainability Measures integrated for long-term climate resilience.
Community Ownership & Water Governance through local committees and women SHG participation.
Decentralized safe-water systems for underserved tribal and rural communities.
Village-level participation and governance for long-term water sustainability.
JalAmruth builds local ownership through Village Water Committees, women SHG participation, awareness on safe usage and hygiene, and sustainability funds for operations and maintenance.
JalAmruth begins in Adilabad where fluoride mitigation and safe water access are urgent. The project is structured as a pilot model that can be replicated in other fluoride-affected, drought-prone, and tribal regions across India.
Sun Charitable Trust believes access to safe drinking water is a fundamental right and the foundation for health, dignity, and sustainable development. Through JalAmruth, we are committed to building water-secure communities from Adilabad to the rest of India.
Sun Charitable Trust invites CSR partners, government institutions, and philanthropic organizations to collaborate in expanding this mission nationally.
